What we have learnt about this kind of event
A gala plays out in a very short window. Between the arrival in black tie and the middle of the evening, everyone wants their photo, and the queue can reach twenty people. So we install a wide backdrop that takes eight to ten people at once, and we place the booth away from the PA so the prompts stay audible. A simple flow of traffic keeps the queue from blocking the bar.
Ball committees often book late, sometimes three weeks before the date. So we keep slack in the diary from October to March, the busiest stretch in university towns. The print carries the name of the school or the year group, with the date: that is precisely the detail that keeps a ball photo on a fridge door for ten years. We prepare that layout with the committee a week before the date.

How many people fit in front of the backdrop?
Our standard backdrop is 2.40 m wide and comfortably takes eight people, up to ten at a squeeze. For a ball we always recommend that size over a narrow one.
How many prints should we plan for a ball?
For a ball we recommend Signature: 400 prints included, enough for every group to get their photo, even when they come back. When we draw up the quote, we check together that the volume suits your guest numbers.
Does someone stay present all evening?
As an add-on, yes, and at a ball it often pays for itself. An operator reloads the paper, keeps the queue moving and handles the unexpected, so nothing stops at the busiest moment. The add-on is paid and priced on your quote.
